I get asked an awful lot what it is I actually do for a living. Everyones initial reaction is to ask a million questions, can you do my husband to make him do more of the washing up? or oooh I'd better not look you in the eye for too long right? Wrong, hypnosis can help anyone that wants to be helped, which unfortunately means if your husband doesn't want to wash up, he won't. However, if it's motivation to do the washing up that your husband is trying to achieve then yes I can help.

Hypnosis is actually a very simple and very powerful tool, it changes millions of people's lives every year. It boils down to this, if you want it to work it will! So with that being said let's get down to explaining it in more detail. Our mind is split into two, we've got our conscious mind which kicks in when big decisions or actions need to be made, such as doing a big presentation at work or going on a first date and then we have the subconscious mind that does things without us needing to think about them like riding in a lift or brushing your teeth or watching TV.

Research claims that our subconscious mind controls 95% of our daily life. With only 5% of our conscious minds running the show, both our minds need to be on the same page for us to achieve our desired outcome. Imagine navigating down a new road reading an old map, and trying to reach your destination in time, confusing right? it's very hard when your conscious and subconscious minds aren't communicating properly. Hypnosis can help you better understand the mixed messages and allow you to let go of old beliefs you may be telling yourself. Our subconscious mind has one job, survival. Its actions, thoughts and beliefs are all to inherently protect us, although sometimes it can get things a bit wrong...
If you emotionally eat, for example, it's probably because your feelings were hurt after a sensitising event (that you may not even remember). You then ate something that triggered the pleasure senses in the brain and happy hormones were released. After unknowingly doing this a few times a habit has formed. Our subconscious brain then connects the two and marks it down as a coping mechanism, triggering you to do this time and time again. Even if after the binging you may feel bad, the brain still thinks it avoided danger and did its job. The good news is we can easily correct this with hypnosis.

But the question is, How? Whilst in a calm hypnotic state, (Theta state) the conscious mind is distracted while the subconscious mind becomes curious and engaged making it more susceptible and open to suggestion and change. Once we have got to the root of where these negative behaviours and beliefs have originated from, we can reprogram them with positive suggestions, habits and behaviours, this in turn triggers happy hormones to be released which affirms these habits back into the subconscious mind. You will start seeing changes immediately.
Every session is carried out on zoom with a custom approach to Hypnosis.
